Vitalik Buterin argues that the prevailing DAO governance model does not solve the flaws of human politics and can leave Web3 projects exposed. According to ForkLog, attackers exploit these weaknesses by manipulating votes, stealing keys, and altering data shown in user interfaces.
Buterin also sees artificial intelligence as an amplifier of the threat. AI can automate the discovery of vulnerabilities and the creation of exploits, increasing pressure on protocol security.
The report notes that humans remain the main weak point in Web3, and a successful audit no longer guarantees security. These risks suggest governance and security models need to be reconsidered even after audits are completed.
