Bitkub Becomes First Thai Exchange to List RLUSD against Thai Baht (THB)

Bitkub Exchange lists Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin against Thai Baht, becoming the first Thai exchange to do so. Educational campaigns via Bitkub Academy also launch.

Bitkub Exchange has become the first cryptocurrency exchange in Thailand to list RLUSD, a stablecoin issued by Ripple, directly against the Thai Baht (THB). The move introduces the US dollar-pegged asset to Thai retail and institutional users, expanding local access to a token that is fully backed 1:1 by US dollar deposits, US Treasuries, and cash equivalents with regular third-party attestations.

The stablecoin is designed primarily for institutional use, aiming to make cross-border transactions faster and more affordable. Alongside the listing, Bitkub is launching new educational campaigns through Bitkub Academy to help Thai users understand how RLUSD and related blockchain technologies work and how to use them safely.

Atthakrit Chimplapibul, Co-founder of Bitkub Group, said that education is the foundation of real adoption and that the goal extends beyond a trading platform to include practical tools for global payments and real-world asset tokenization. Suchart Pavasiriporn, CEO of Bitkub Academy, added that the Thai community has the potential to lead the Web3 revolution, and the academy is committed to providing hands-on insights into blockchain’s transformation of global finance. Fiona Murray, Managing Director for Asia Pacific at Ripple, noted that Thailand is an important market for digital asset innovation and that RLUSD, whose market cap has surpassed $1.5 billion, addresses the need for trust and compliance in both retail and institutional settings.

The partnership marks a significant step for digital asset adoption in Southeast Asia, providing Thai users with a stable, regulated tool for payments and tokenized assets while reinforcing Ripple’s mission to bridge fragmented financial networks.
