Bitget Launches U.S. Stock Options on Stock+ Platform

Bitget has launched U.S. stock options trading on its Stock+ platform, allowing eligible users to trade long call and long put strategies. The move expands the exchange's suite beyond tokenized stocks.

Bitget, the Seychelles-based crypto exchange, has introduced U.S. stock options trading on its Stock+ platform, the company announced Thursday. The new offering is available to eligible users for buying long call and long put strategies.

The initial rollout focuses on single-leg options buying, which is simpler than multi-leg strategies like spreads or straddles. Traders can purchase call options to gain upside exposure to U.S. equities or buy put options to hedge against downside moves. In both cases, the maximum loss is limited to the premium paid, though the contract can expire worthless if the expected price movement doesn't materialize. Bitget said more advanced options structures will be added in future updates.

Stock+ is Bitget's broader initiative to merge crypto trading infrastructure with traditional market access. The platform already offers tokenized stocks and pre-IPO exposure to private markets. Adding U.S. stock options deepens the product stack and moves Bitget closer to the multi-asset broker model.

The launch follows a record year for listed options activity in the U.S., where more than 15.2 billion contracts were traded in 2025, averaging about 60 million contracts per trading day, according to figures cited by the exchange. Bitget CEO Gracy Chen framed the move as part of a convergence between crypto and traditional finance, stating, "From tokenized stocks to now options, we are executing on convergence."

Crypto exchanges are increasingly looking to diversify beyond digital asset trading, which can be volatile. Options offer a higher-engagement product that can help platforms reduce reliance on spot crypto volumes. However, options are more complex than spot trading, and product design, user eligibility, and risk disclosure are critical for a responsible rollout.

Bitget is not alone in expanding beyond crypto. Coinbase has outlined plans to broaden options capabilities and add thematic equity products, while Binance offers tokenized equity access through its bStocks feature. This trend signals a competitive shift where large crypto exchanges aim to capture more of the trader wallet by competing with traditional brokers rather than only with each other. Regulatory exposure will be a key constraint, as U.S. stock options are heavily regulated and access rules vary by jurisdiction.
