Bitget Launches 2,800+ U.S. Stock Options

Crypto exchange Bitget announced it will launch trading in more than 2,800 US stock options on July 17. The new offering aims to help users gain greater market exposure with less capital, hedge existing positions, and achieve more flexible portfolio allocation.

All Bitget users will benefit from zero trading commissions on US stock options and free real-time quotes. The initial product supports buying to open (long call and long put) and selling to close (long call and long put). Non-standard options are available for closing only.

Trading Rules and Fees

Options trading hours are 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM Eastern Time. Margin funding is cash-only; buying options on margin is not supported. Long calls and long puts require 100% premium payment upfront, with no leverage available. The platform uses the average cost method for PnL calculation, and settlement is T+1.

Trading commission is USD 0 per contract, while a platform fee of USD 0.60 per contract applies to both buy and sell orders. Regulatory fees collected by US authorities – including SEC fee (0.00206% of transaction value, min USD 0.01) and FINRA trading activity fee (USD 0.00329 per contract, max USD 9.79 per order) – apply to sell orders only. Additional third-party fees include a clearing fee of USD 0.025 per contract, regulatory fee USD 0.015, exercise/assignment fee USD 0.18, and audit trail fee USD 0.0003.

Supported order types include limit, market, and conditional orders (buy/sell at trigger price, buy on rebound, sell on pullback). In-the-money options are automatically exercised by the Options Clearing Corporation (OCC), while out-of-the-money options expire worthless. The platform also details handling of corporate actions such as accelerated expiration, stock splits, reverse splits, and symbol changes.
