Bitfinex Launches Support for XAUT0 on Celo
Bitfinex now supports deposits and withdrawals of XAUT0, a tokenized gold token, on the Celo blockchain, expanding multi-chain access for its users.
Bitfinex, the digital asset trading platform, announced on April 16, 2026, that it has enabled deposits and withdrawals of XAUT0 on the Celo network. XAUT0 is a tokenized gold token that combines the value of physical gold with blockchain accessibility, allowing for instant, borderless ownership.
The integration allows Bitfinex customers to move XAUT0 using Celo, a blockchain designed for fast, low-cost transactions and optimized for real-world use cases like payments and asset transfers. Celo’s mobile-first architecture aims to broaden access to tokenized assets such as gold.
This move follows earlier support for XAUT0 on The Open Network (TON), Solana, and Plasma. Bitfinex customers can convert between XAUT0 and XAUt at a 1:1 ratio using the platform’s built-in Currency Conversion tool.
“Supporting XAUT0 on Celo adds another accessible and efficient network for users to interact with tokenised gold,” said Anoush Bhasin, Head of Listings at Bitfinex. “As demand grows for interoperable digital assets, we are focused on supporting infrastructure that improves how these assets can be transferred and used across different ecosystems.”
Deposits and withdrawals for XAUT0 on Celo went live at 10:00 AM UTC on April 16, 2026.
