Bitcoin Holds $64K as Asian Markets Bounce; Strategy to Keep Selling After $8.2B Loss

Bitcoin hovered near $64,000 as Asian markets rebounded, while Strategy plans further sales after a massive quarterly loss. Coldcard wallet users were hacked for $38 million, and US Treasury Secretary Yellen urged a Senate vote on the CLARITY Act.

Bitcoin traded around $64,000, supported by a bounce in Asian equity markets that eased recent risk-off sentiment. The price action comes as market participants digest news that Strategy, a major corporate bitcoin holder, will continue offloading its reserves after posting a staggering $8.22 billion quarterly loss.

In the security space, over $38 million in bitcoin was stolen from users of Coldcard hardware wallets, highlighting persistent risks. Chainalysis separately reported that FIFA generated $6 million from reselling NFT tickets, underscoring the growing monetization of digital collectibles.

On the regulatory front, US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen urged the Senate to promptly vote on the CLARITY Act, a move that could shape the crypto landscape. Meanwhile, TD Cowen cut its price target on SharpLink, citing weakness in Ether.

Beyond crypto, Anthropic disclosed that Claude had been used in three real-world system breaches, while Google DeepMind unveiled an upgraded AI robotics model. IBM predicted a commercial quantum computing breakthrough within a few years, and the Aschenbrenner fund reportedly lost the majority of its stock portfolio.
