BIP-110 Failure Shows Bitcoin Consensus Resilience, Zucco Says

Plan B Network director Giacomo Zucco called BIP-110 a complex social episode and argued its rejection underscored Bitcoin's consensus strength, while criticizing centralized coordination around one developer.

Plan B Network director Giacomo Zucco said the failed BIP-110 proposal demonstrated the resilience of Bitcoin’s consensus process.

He argued that update coordination was concentrated in the hands of a single person, saying Luke Dash Jr. issued commands through Discord. Zucco described that as an extreme form of centralization.

According to Zucco, the episode shows that honestly recreating Bitcoin today is effectively impossible. He also characterized BIP-110 as a complex social phenomenon involving several overlapping conflicts within the community.
