Binance adds options on 1,000 US stocks and ETFs as monthly TradFi perpetual volume hits $433 billion

Binance is adding physically settled options on more than 1,000 US-listed stocks and ETFs through its ADGM-regulated broker-dealer Nest, routing orders to Alpaca Securities. TradFi perpetual volume hit $433.4bn in August.
Binance has begun offering options on more than 1,000 US-listed stocks and exchange-traded funds, extending its push into traditional finance products as trading activity in equity-linked derivatives climbs.
The contracts are issued through Nest Trading Limited, the exchange's broker-dealer regulated by the Abu Dhabi Global Market. Nest acts as introducing broker and routes orders to US-registered Alpaca Securities, which handles execution, clearing, settlement and custody. The products are not available to US users.
According to Binance, the options are physically settled: on exercise, users receive or deliver the underlying shares of supported US-listed stocks and ETFs, which Alpaca holds in custody on their behalf. Eligible retail users can buy calls and puts, with maximum potential loss capped at the premium paid. The company said it expects to add further stock options listings over time.
TradFi derivatives volumes surge
The launch builds on a broader traditional-finance build-out. In June, Binance introduced trading in more than 7,000 US-listed stocks and ETFs for customers outside the United States, and it already offers bStocks tokenized securities and equity-linked perpetual futures alongside its crypto services.
Binance said traditional-finance perpetual futures volume reached roughly $433.4 billion in August, about 15 times January's $29.5 billion. Equity-linked perpetuals made up around 79% of that total, generating $342.9 billion in August compared with $410.9 million in January.
"Stock options are an important next step in Binance's evolution into a fuller multi-asset platform," said Shunyet Jan, Binance's Head of Exchange and Trading. "By adding options on selected US stocks and ETFs, we are expanding the tools available to users who want to participate in equity markets, manage exposure, and access strategies that have historically been offered through traditional brokers — all from one Binance account."
Rival crypto venues are moving in a similar direction. Bybit is set to launch 24/7 options on stock perpetuals on Sept. 17, starting with SpaceX and Nvidia. Unlike Binance's physically settled contracts on US-listed securities, Bybit's products are tied to stock perpetuals and settle in USDT.
