Ally Financial (NYSE: ALLY) has appointed Mark Mathewson as its new Chief Information and Data Officer (CIDO), effective July 20, 2026. Mathewson will oversee the company's technology and data organization across all business lines, driving the next phase of Ally's digital transformation.

Mathewson brings more than 25 years of technology leadership experience to the role. He most recently served as divisional chief information officer for Capital One's retail banking and commercial banking units, where he led technology teams across the United States, Mexico, and India. During his 12-year tenure at Capital One, he held roles from Vice President to Executive Vice President, reflecting his technical expertise and leadership at scale.

Prior to Capital One, Mathewson spent 12 years at Fannie Mae, advancing through increasingly senior roles in application development, IT governance, and project portfolio management. He also led technology organizations for capital markets and customer engagement teams. Earlier in his career, he held technology consulting roles at Deloitte and worked at early-stage startup admine.com.

Ally CEO Michael Rhodes praised Mathewson's appointment, stating, "Mark is an incredibly respected technology leader in financial services, someone who blends the rigor and discipline that our industry demands with the curiosity and ambition that drives meaningful innovation." Rhodes added that Mathewson's deep financial services background and talent development skills will help drive AI-driven technological transformation.
