A Change of Character (CHoCH) is the first time price breaks structure against the prevailing trend — for example a downtrend breaking above its last lower high. It warns that the trend may be shifting.
How traders use it
- A CHoCH is an early reversal warning, not a confirmation.
- It often precedes a full break of structure the other way.
- Combine it with support/resistance for higher-quality signals.
