XDC Now Listed on Robinhood, Expanding Access to Millions of U.S. Users

XDC Network's native token is now tradeable on Robinhood Crypto for eligible US customers, extending the trade finance-focused Layer-1 blockchain beyond its institutional user base.

Robinhood Crypto has added support for XDC Network, allowing eligible US customers to trade the XDC token on the platform, the Layer-1 blockchain project said on Wednesday. The listing places XDC alongside established assets such as bitcoin and ether for the brokerage's retail audience, which XDC Network put at 2.3 million users on the Robinhood platform.

The token had until now been used mainly by institutions, including banks, trade finance providers, tokenisation platforms and developers. XDC Network co-founder Ritesh Kakkad said the retail listing does not change the network's core focus, describing it as an expansion of who can access infrastructure built for cross-border value transfer and settlement.

Institutional footprint

XDC Network said the Robinhood listing follows sustained institutional activity on the chain. Deutsche Telekom, SBI Holdings, NTT DOCOMO Global, Clear Street and Taurus are among the firms helping run and secure the network as validators. On the payments side, XDC has integrated with Bridge, a Stripe company, joined Mastercard's Crypto Partner Program, and powers OrbitX's USDC corporate cards, which allow businesses to spend digital balances on everyday expenses.

The network frames trade finance as its primary market. The World Trade Organization estimates that up to 80% of global trade depends on trade finance, while the Asian Development Bank puts the gap between what businesses request and what banks approve at roughly $2.5 trillion, with small and mid-sized exporters most often turned away — a shortfall the project attributes partly to paper-based processes. XDC Network moves trade documents and payments on-chain to reduce settlement time and cost, and its ISO 20022 compatibility is designed to connect with the messaging systems banks already use.

XDC Network describes itself as an open-source, EVM-compatible Layer-1 blockchain built for payments, trade finance and real-world assets, offering high throughput, low fees and enterprise-grade security. The company noted that not all crypto assets are available in every US state and that access on Robinhood is subject to its terms and eligibility requirements.
