WhiteBIT EU Secures MiCA License in Austria

WhiteBIT EU has obtained a MiCA authorisation from Austria's Financial Market Authority, allowing the crypto exchange to offer regulated services across the EEA and prepare the launch of whitebit.eu.
WhiteBIT EU, the European entity of crypto exchange WhiteBIT, has secured authorisation under the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) from Austria's Financial Market Authority (FMA). The approval enables the company to provide regulated crypto-asset services to eligible users across the European Economic Area, excluding Malta.
The entity behind the authorisation is WB-Shield Innovations GmbH, which operates as WhiteBIT EU. The licence follows a full regulatory assessment by Austria, a jurisdiction recognised for its developed financial supervision standards. Under MiCA, the firm will need to meet requirements related to governance, transparency, client protection and market integrity across the region.
Volodymyr Nosov, founder and president of W Group, of which WhiteBIT is a part, said Europe remains central to the group's long-term vision. He described MiCA as a global benchmark for digital-asset regulation and said the licence reinforces the company's commitment to building a transparent and compliant crypto ecosystem for European users.
WhiteBIT.eu rollout
WhiteBIT is now preparing to launch whitebit.eu, a dedicated platform for users across the EEA. The platform will act as WhiteBIT's regulated hub for the European market, operating under the MiCA framework and providing compliant access to the exchange's products and services. Interested new users can already register their interest through a form on the website and will be among the first to receive updates when the platform goes live.
WhiteBIT was founded in 2018 and is now part of W Group, which serves more than 35 million customers globally. The exchange has previously partnered with Visa, FACEIT, Barcelona FC, Juventus and the Ukrainian national football team. The MiCA approval marks a further step in WhiteBIT's strategy to build a regulated European presence and support the broader digital-asset ecosystem in the EEA.
