Webull Joins X Cashtag Program as Social Feed Adds Broker Links

Webull has become a partner in X's Cashtag program, linking ticker pages on the social platform to its brokerage, where users can log in or open an account to place a trade.

Webull, the US-based online investment platform, has joined X's Cashtag Partner Program for stocks and cryptocurrencies, creating a route from ticker discussions on the social network to its brokerage and trading infrastructure, where users can begin a trade. Transactions are not carried out on X itself and remain subject to Webull's onboarding, eligibility and jurisdictional rules.

X introduced the Cashtag Partner Program in the United States on 15 September with a limited group of partners, among them Interactive Brokers, Moomoo, Coinbase, Kraken and Gemini. Webull came on board roughly two weeks after the launch. The concept was first trialled in 2023, when X, then still called Twitter, worked with eToro to attach external trading links to Cashtag pages. The current version widens the model from a single provider to a set of brokers and crypto platforms, effectively turning ticker symbols into a distribution channel.

How Cashtags work

When a user posts or searches a ticker such as $AAPL or $BTC, X automatically suggests the matching asset. Tapping the Cashtag opens the asset's live chart alongside posts that mention it, together with links to partner brokers. Users are then redirected to the chosen partner rather than executing anything inside X, and must log in or register and complete the transaction independently.

Webull offers a multi-asset lineup covering US stocks, ETFs, options, futures, fractional shares and digital assets, with the available products and the responsible legal entities varying by market. At the end of June, the company reported 28.2 million registered users, 5.13 million funded accounts and $28.5 billion in customer assets. Under the Cashtag setup, existing customers are sent to Webull to log in and prepare an order, while new users still need to open an account and pass the required checks. Digital-asset trading sits outside Webull's standard securities structure and is provided by Webull Pay LLC, while securities and derivatives are handled by other regulated Webull entities, meaning the instruments reachable through a Cashtag link can differ by asset, location and account eligibility.

The agreement also raises the prospect of feeding X data into Webull, including sentiment, discussion trends, market narratives and Cashtag activity, although no finished analytics product or launch date was announced. It follows Webull's recent expansion of an AI assistant that can research markets and prepare orders across several asset classes, with users still required to review and confirm each order. Neither Webull nor X disclosed the commercial terms, the timetable for Webull links, referral volumes or whether the integration will extend beyond the United States.
