Tim Plummer Takes Over as CEO of FunderPro and NextTrade

Tim Plummer, CEO of Deus X Markets, has become CEO of prop trading firm FunderPro and offshore CFDs broker NextTrade. Gary Mullen has left FunderPro to launch a marketing startup called StopChurn.

Tim Plummer, the chief executive of broker-as-a-service provider Deus X Markets, has assumed the CEO role at two additional businesses within the Deus X Capital group: proprietary trading firm FunderPro and newly launched offshore CFDs broker NextTrade.

Plummer takes over from Gary Mullen, who has departed FunderPro to found a marketing automation and optimization company named StopChurn. Mullen's exit follows that of Petros Kalaitzis, the former Deputy CEO and Chief Strategy Officer at FunderPro, who left earlier this year to become head of IC Markets' prop firm, IC Funded.

Based in London, Plummer brings extensive industry experience to the role. He was previously Head of Product Strategy at Capital.com and spent eight years at IG Group, where he ended as Head of Platform Innovation in 2022. His career also includes stints at Vantage, Marex, and Sucden Financial.

In a social media post, Plummer announced the move and noted that the group has secured strategic investment to support regional growth, sharpen competitive positioning, and strengthen its balance sheet. He described the three businesses — FunderPro, FunderPro Futures, and NextTrade — as united by an ambition to provide traders with fairer, faster, and more transparent market access.

The appointments represent a consolidation of leadership under one CEO as the Deus X Capital group expands its footprint in the prop trading and retail CFD brokerage space.
