tastytrade Integration Live on QuantConnect

QuantConnect has integrated tastytrade’s brokerage platform into its open-source algorithmic trading environment, enabling commission-free equity, option, futures and combo order trading with free streaming data.

QuantConnect, the open-source algorithmic trading platform, has announced a live integration with tastytrade, the derivatives-focused retail brokerage. The partnership provides quants, retail traders, and professional investors with a fully open-source connection between tastytrade’s brokerage services and QuantConnect’s institutional-grade research and execution environment.

The integration, developed through tastytrade’s API partnership, is available on GitHub under an open-source license. It supports commission-free trading of equities and ETFs, cash and margin accounts, and a broad range of asset classes including equities, options, futures, and combo orders. The collaboration also includes seamless authentication using a long-lived OAuth token, allowing algorithms to run for months without manual intervention.

Tastytrade offers live streaming market data at no extra cost for personal investor accounts. The integration is compatible with all QuantConnect environments: local development, cloud-based backtesting, and live deployment via the LEAN CLI. Users can follow step-by-step documentation to deploy live strategies immediately.

QuantConnect describes its mission as building "the open-source Linux of finance," providing a complete operating system for strategy development. By adding tastytrade, the platform aims to make professional-grade tools more accessible to independent traders while maintaining transparency through open-source code. tastytrade and QuantConnect remain separate, unaffiliated companies, each responsible for their own products and policies.
