System Update: Take Control of Your Money with Coinbase

Coinbase unveiled a broad product update spanning tokenized stocks, crypto options, AI-powered advisory, agent trading and USDC-backed card access, along with expanded borrowing and a new developer platform.
Coinbase has announced a wide-ranging product update covering trading, advisory, financial services and developer infrastructure, saying the new features reinforce its goal of building a unified "Everything Exchange" where users manage all assets in one place.
On the trading side, Coinbase said it will introduce tokenized stocks for non-U.S. customers next month. The tokens will be backed 1:1 by the underlying U.S. stocks and include dividend payouts and full shareholder rights, while allowing 24/7 trading, share lending, use as loan collateral and gifting. In the coming months, the exchange also plans to roll out options trading for both crypto and stocks. U.S. customers can now transfer existing stock portfolios to Coinbase and trade major stocks, indices and ETFs, with zero commission, TradingView charting, fractional shares and up to 3.5% rewards on trade-ready USDC balances on Coinbase Advanced.
Coinbase is also expanding derivatives and prediction markets. It has introduced real-world asset (RWA) perpetual futures tied to thematic indices including AI, China, Defense and the Tech 100, and launched Pre-IPO perps starting with SpaceX, with Anthropic and OpenAI expected to follow. Prediction market users will gain access to crypto binaries on BTC, ETH, SOL and more, as well as "Combos" that bundle multiple predictions into one position. A new Launches tab will allow instant DEX access to newly created Base or Solana tokens.
The company said it is merging its U.S. spot exchange, international derivatives exchanges and Deribit into a unified regulated global liquidity pool, and described itself as the first CFTC-approved provider of global regulated crypto derivatives, including options, to Americans. Coinbase also announced Coinbase Advisor, an AI-powered, SEC-registered in-app investment advisor rolling out first to Coinbase One members in the U.S., and Coinbase for Agents, a platform for configurable AI agents that can trade across spot and derivatives with set capital limits and isolated sub-accounts.
In financial services, Coinbase launched a Travel Portal for Coinbase One Card holders offering 5% Bitcoin back on bookings, and introduced a USDC-backed option for customers who do not qualify for a traditional credit line. Users can now borrow against staked Solana via JitoSOL through the Morpho integration on Base, with up to $100,000 available, while cbETH borrowing is supported up to $1 million. A new Transfer Protection framework adds time-delayed withdrawals, customizable daily limits and multi-party approval workflows.
Coinbase also unveiled the Coinbase Developer Platform (CDP), a single access point for wallet infrastructure, payments, trading and stablecoin issuance. The company said stablecoin volume across its products reached nearly $1 trillion last year, and named Checkout.com, Klarna and Webull as partners using its payments or custodial infrastructure. Coinbase is also partnering with AWS to support native agent payments on AWS AgentCore, with Coinbase Payments APIs now enabled for both human and agent transactions.
