Statement of XTB regarding the decision of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF)

XTB issues statement on a Polish Financial Supervision Authority decision regarding target client group definitions and onboarding forms from 2022-2023; the ruling is not final and not immediately enforceable.

Polish online broker XTB has issued a statement following a decision by the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) concerning the company’s client onboarding procedures. The decision, announced on April 13, 2026, focuses on the process of defining target client groups and the registration form used for new clients between January 2022 and September 2023.

According to XTB, both the registration form and the broader onboarding mechanism have already been revised in line with the KNF’s guidelines. The company emphasized that the regulator’s decision is not final and is subject to further legal review.

XTB said it is currently conducting a detailed analysis of the KNF’s justification to decide whether to pursue additional legal steps. The firm noted that the decision has not been granted immediate enforceability, meaning XTB will not be required to pay any potential penalty before the ruling becomes final.

The development comes as XTB continues to expand its retail brokerage operations across Europe. The company has not provided a timeline for its next move regarding the KNF decision.
