Robinhood is Now Open to Agents

Robinhood Markets today announced the launch of Agentic Trading and the Agentic Credit Card, allowing customers to connect third-party AI agents to their accounts for automated trading and spending. The products go live immediately through Robinhood’s Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers.

“Our mission has always been to democratize finance for all, and now, that mission extends to AI agents,” said Vlad Tenev, CEO of Robinhood.

Agentic Trading lets users open a separate account for AI-managed trades, with funds limited to that account. Agents can execute strategies such as portfolio rebalancing, sector-focused investing, or mean-reversion backtesting. The feature launches in beta and currently supports equities only; options, crypto, event contracts, and futures are planned for later releases. Customers receive push notifications on every trade and can view a real-time activity feed and P&L in the Robinhood app. Agents can be disconnected instantly with a single tap.

The Agentic Credit Card, available to existing Robinhood Gold Card holders, allows agents to make purchases using a dedicated virtual card. Users set spending limits, choose whether to require manual approvals, and restrict the agent to that virtual card only — no access to the primary card number or other account details. The agent can scan for best prices and execute purchases automatically, earning 3% cash back. Use cases include buying limited-release sneakers, booking restaurant reservations, or ordering supplies for a small business.

Robinhood emphasized a “safety-always” approach. Controls include fraud detection, manual approval options for credit card purchases, and previews of trades before execution. The company’s support team can review agent instructions and actions to resolve disputes.

The Agentic Credit Card will later support the Robinhood Platinum Card when it launches. Full API documentation and integration guides are available on Robinhood’s support pages.
