Revolut X Lets Users Trade Crypto Through Natural Language Prompts

Revolut has connected its standalone crypto exchange Revolut X to third-party AI assistants, enabling users to analyze markets, monitor portfolios, and place trades through natural language prompts while retaining final approval.

Revolut has integrated its standalone crypto exchange, Revolut X, with third-party AI assistants, allowing customers to perform trading tasks via natural language prompts. The integration supports Claude, Gemini, OpenClaw, and Cursor, with users on other platforms able to connect through a universal skill or GitHub command-line interface — no coding required, according to the company.

Through the AI tools, users can request market data, review portfolio performance, set price alerts, and place market or limit orders. Each order must be reviewed and approved by the user before execution. Customers can also describe trading ideas in plain language and receive backtesting-style analysis — for example, a grid strategy on bitcoin over the past 90 days with historical performance and risk metrics. Revolut emphasized that it does not endorse or guarantee the third-party AI tools and is not liable for losses or erroneous trades caused by AI errors.

Revolut said it has over 75 million retail customers and more than 16 million crypto users. Its crypto services are provided by Revolut Digital Assets Europe Ltd., licensed by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission as a crypto asset service provider under MiCA. Revolut X launched in May 2024 as a desktop-only exchange for UK retail customers, expanded to 30 European markets in November 2024, and added a mobile app for UK and EEA users in March 2025.

The move positions Revolut in the growing trend of agentic trading, where AI assistants act as a front-end for market analysis and order preparation. Other platforms are similar: Gemini rolled out an agentic trading tool in April using the MCP standard; Liquid launched Co-Invest for live trade execution in AI assistant environments; and Robinhood has announced crypto-focused agentic accounts following its stock-trading beta. For Revolut, the integration adds a product layer aimed at active traders.

Revolut stated that the legal and practical burden for execution decisions remains with the user. The company disclaims liability for AI-generated errors, missed opportunities, or erroneous trades, underscoring that final approval rests with the customer.
