Quidax and Lisk Partner to Power Digital Finance in Africa

Quidax has teamed up with Lisk to offer USDT, USDC, LSK and ETH on the Lisk network, tapping Quidax's Nigerian SEC license and Lisk's Ethereum Layer 2 infrastructure.
African-founded cryptocurrency exchange Quidax has announced a partnership with Lisk, an Ethereum Layer 2 network focused on high-growth markets. The collaboration is Lisk's first with an African exchange licensed by Nigeria's Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), linking regulated digital asset infrastructure with Lisk's expanding ecosystem.
Quidax made history in 2024 as the first crypto exchange to receive a provisional operating license from Nigeria's SEC. Building on that regulatory foundation, the partnership will allow Quidax customers to trade and transfer USDT, USDC, LSK and Ether (ETH) on the Lisk network. The move expands access to stablecoins and other onchain financial tools for retail users and businesses across Africa.
Beyond trading, the partnership is positioned as a gateway for developers. Builders on Lisk can use Quidax's digital asset infrastructure to source stablecoins and local currencies at competitive rates. Quidax describes the setup as institutional-grade infrastructure designed to support products ranging from neobanks and cross-border payment platforms to regional exchanges and global fintech applications.
Morris Ebieroma, Chief Infrastructure Officer at Quidax, said the partnership enables the exchange to serve more people and meet growing demand from products and services looking to integrate its stablecoin and digital asset offerings across Africa.
Lisk recently transitioned to an Ethereum Layer 2 to focus on emerging markets. Chidubem Emelumadu, Ecosystem Lead (Africa) at Lisk, said Africa is one of the most critical frontiers for blockchain innovation, with urgent demand for reliable and inclusive financial tools. He added that the partnership expands access to stablecoins and onchain financial opportunities while giving founders building on Lisk the infrastructure needed to create solutions that can scale across the continent.
The collaboration combines Quidax's local liquidity and compliance framework with Lisk's scalable Layer 2 technology. Together, the companies aim to accelerate adoption of Web3 solutions addressing real-world financial challenges for millions of customers in Africa.
