Platform Outage at the US Open Does Not Stop XTB Shares Setting Records Two Days Running

XTB shares set a fresh record on Tuesday even as clients reported platform outages around Monday's US market open; investors focused on bumper Q2 results.

XTB shares hit a record PLN 155.22 in Warsaw on Tuesday morning, a day after client outages around the US market open failed to dent investor enthusiasm. The stock was up 2.67% by 10:20 a.m. local time, after closing Monday at what was already an all-time high of PLN 151.18.

Clients reported Monday that the broker's web platform would not load and its mobile app was slow or unable to pull instrument data, with complaints piling up on Downdetector. The first reports appeared around 1:39 p.m. Warsaw time, including a user asking whether others were affected and a social-media account run by a licensed Polish securities broker saying XTB had kept it from placing orders at the open. Another user called the platform unusable by 1:52 p.m. Reports spread beyond Poland; a trader in Latin America wrote in Spanish that the service had been down for over an hour. Polish tech site ithardware.pl estimated the disruption at 30-40 minutes, but complaints were still appearing at 4:58 p.m. XTB has not published a statement on the cause or scale of the outage.

Investors looked past the outage

The record close that afternoon reflected numbers published four days earlier. On 31 July XTB announced preliminary second-quarter revenue of PLN 992.6 million and net profit of PLN 492.2 million, beating Noble Securities' forecast by PLN 89.2 million, or 22.1%. The stock jumped 8.6% that day to PLN 147.68. First-half operating revenue rose 79.7% to PLN 2.09 billion and net profit rose 150.5% to PLN 1.03 billion, with 703,333 clients on the books at end-June. Noble Securities subsequently lifted its 2026 net profit forecast by 50% to PLN 1.5 billion; the shares had gained almost 97% in 12 months as of the results.

The latest outage was far shorter than earlier disruptions. In November 2025, clients were unable to close positions for about nine hours, and XTB suspended CFD trading for an hour to carry out repairs. It blamed a technological limitation in the system transferring data between its trading engine and web/mobile platforms and said 0.4% of 25 million positions were affected; shares opened only 0.7% lower the next day. Regulatory issues have had more impact: Poland's UOKiK previously opened a probe involving ten banks and brokers, including XTB, over repeated outages, and the stock fell 8% on concerns that the KNF would widen its CFD review.

XTB responded to the November incident by promising a new platform architecture, with completion targeted for Q1 2026. Monday's failure came about four months after that deadline. The company has not said whether the migration is complete or whether the affected systems were part of the rebuild.
