Pepperstone Sees Double-Digit Revenue Growth in Rare Mid-Year Update

Pepperstone CEO Tamas Szabo says the broker recorded double-digit growth in revenue and new clients, plus a 30% rise in volumes, in an unusual mid-year performance note.

Pepperstone chief executive Tamas Szabo has disclosed that the Australian broker delivered double-digit growth in both revenue and new client numbers in the first half of 2026, alongside a 30% increase in trading volumes. Writing on LinkedIn, Szabo said the firm does not normally release interim results but chose to comment because broker performance has drawn heavy market attention of late.

New client activity was the standout metric. First trades placed by new clients rose 40% year on year, which the CEO attributed to solid demand across Pepperstone's core markets as well as its newer growth regions.

Pepperstone has been expanding its regulatory footprint. Early in 2026 the broker secured a Category 5 licence from the UAE Securities and Commodities Authority and opened a regional hub in Dubai, staffed with experienced FX executives tasked with building out Middle East operations and accelerating growth in the region.

Crypto Rollout and Cross-Asset Push

The company also launched its crypto arm in 2026, initially serving the Australian market only. Szabo confirmed that a progressive global rollout is now under way. To lead the technology side of that expansion, Pepperstone appointed Nigel Fernandes as chief technology officer. Fernandes brings roughly 20 years of experience, having worked at Xero, SEEK and Coles, and has said his priority is to build on the broker's brand while investing in proprietary technology to create an AI-native engineering foundation that gives clients faster and more reliable access to trading tools.

Broadening into new product lines such as crypto has also prompted Pepperstone to recruit a Head of Cross-Asset Strategy, a role more commonly seen at institutional firms. The position is intended to capture opportunities across overlapping asset classes. Chief operating officer Tom Williams has argued that brokers which approach product innovation as a serious cross-asset discipline will be the ones to prevail.

The update offers an unusually detailed look at Pepperstone's performance between reporting periods, spanning client acquisition, geographic expansion and product diversification.
