OKX Raises New Funding at $25 Billion Valuation From…

OKX has raised an undisclosed amount of new funding at a $25 billion valuation, backed by Circle, Ripple, Standard Chartered's SC Ventures and quant firm QRT.

OKX has raised a new round of funding at a $25 billion valuation, with strategic investment from stablecoin issuer Circle, blockchain payments company Ripple, Standard Chartered's venture arm SC Ventures and quantitative trading firm QRT. The exchange did not disclose the amount of capital raised alongside the valuation.

The composition of the investor group gives the transaction a strong strategic character rather than the profile of a conventional venture round led purely by financial backers. Each participant operates in a segment that intersects with the exchange business as crypto trading venues become more closely tied to regulated financial infrastructure. The valuation also positions OKX among the most valuable privately held companies in the digital-asset sector.

What each investor brings

Circle's involvement is most directly relevant to OKX's stablecoin operations. Circle issues USDC, one of the largest dollar-backed stablecoins and a widely used settlement asset across exchanges, decentralized-finance protocols and institutional blockchain infrastructure. A closer relationship could support deeper USDC liquidity and settlement across OKX's global products, though the investment does not establish any exclusive stablecoin arrangement. Ripple adds institutional blockchain payment and custody capabilities, along with the ecosystem around XRP and its RLUSD stablecoin.

SC Ventures, the innovation and venture-investment arm of Standard Chartered, provides the clearest link to traditional banking, following the lender's expansion into custody, trading, tokenization and stablecoin-related initiatives. QRT contributes a market-structure dimension through its quantitative trading expertise.

The round comes as OKX continues to move beyond its traditional offshore trading business and pursue regulated access to major markets. The company runs one of the world's largest crypto exchanges by trading activity and has expanded into institutional services, derivatives, wallets, decentralized applications and payments. Its growth increasingly depends on securing regulatory approvals jurisdiction by jurisdiction — a shift seen across the industry, where platforms that once served international customers through centralized operations are now building locally regulated entities.

OKX did not disclose the size or structure of the financing, and private-company valuations do not map directly onto public-market capitalizations because the terms attached to new shares can vary. The $25 billion figure nonetheless serves as a reference point for how the participating investors assess OKX's business and growth prospects. The value of the deal may ultimately rest on whether those shareholder relationships translate into new products, liquidity, distribution or institutional infrastructure.
