Match-Trade Adds Retail Traders to MCP After Brokers and Prop Firms

Match-Trade Technologies has rolled out Match-Trader MCP for Traders, a remote Model Context Protocol server that lets retail clients query account data and place orders through AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude.

Match-Trade Technologies, the company behind the Match-Trader multi-asset trading platform, has introduced Match-Trader MCP for Traders, a remote Model Context Protocol server that links trading accounts to supported AI assistants. The launch, announced on 5 October 2026, extends the vendor's MCP work from back-office users to the retail trading community.

The service is designed to let traders pull account and market information using everyday language rather than navigating platform menus. Typical requests cover open positions, swap costs, portfolio exposure, pending orders and trading history. Beyond simple lookups, the tool can help users review closed trades, look for patterns behind losing positions and flag open trades that carry no stop-loss protection.

Match-Trader MCP also supports execution. It can open, modify and close positions, and it can create, amend or cancel pending orders. Before an action is carried out, the AI assistant presents the request and its parameters, and clients that support the feature can require the trader to approve the order first.

Read and trading functions kept separate

According to Match-Trade, the server reaches accounts through the Match-Trader API and keeps read-only and trading capabilities apart. It works with assistants including Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and VS Code, and needs no separate software installation. Access is handled through tokens tied to individual trading accounts; permissions can be limited by function and tokens revoked. Rate limits apply at both token and user level, and any API-driven action remains visible in the account's trading history.

The retail release follows Match-Trade's MCP integration for brokers and prop firms, launched the previous week, which opened Match-Trader Manager and Admin data to compatible AI clients. In August the company also rolled out AI Skills for its Broker API and CRM API, covering broker data plus documentation for integrations, reports and dashboards.

Other industry participants have been moving in a similar direction. Technology provider Leverate has launched an MCP server that exposes broker CRM, marketing and risk data, while prop firms FundedNext and The5ers have introduced their own MCP connections. FundedNext's read-only offering covers account information, payouts, trading performance and rules, whereas The5ers links its evaluation and Pro accounts to AI clients including ChatGPT and Claude.

Match-Trade noted that the service does not amount to investment advice, and that traders remain responsible for any order they approve.
