John Murphy Takes Over Scope Markets Leadership, Pavel Spirin Now CGO

Scope Markets parent Rostro Group has appointed John Murphy as Managing Director of the brokerage, while former CEO Pavel Spirin transitions to Group Chief Growth Officer.

Rostro Group, the holding company behind retail forex and CFDs broker Scope Markets, has reshuffled its management team for the second time in as many years. Effective immediately, John Murphy has been appointed Managing Director of Scope Markets, taking over day-to-day leadership of the brand. Pavel Spirin, who has served as CEO of Scope Markets since 2023, moves to the newly created role of Group Chief Growth Officer (CGO) at both Rostro Group and its subsidiaries Scope Markets and Scope Prime.

Leadership Reshuffle at Rostro Group

Murphy is no stranger to the group — he previously served as Chief Revenue Officer at Scope Markets before being promoted to Group Chief Commercial Officer at Rostro in 2025. In his new role, he will be based in Dubai and will lead Scope Markets globally, overseeing strategy, performance, and growth across all regions. Spirin, who will continue operating from London, will focus on driving growth initiatives across Rostro Group’s retail and offshore brands, including Scope Prime.

Rostro Group was founded in 2020 by Roger Hambury, a former executive at ACM/TradeTech (now Finalto). The company acquired Scope Markets in 2023 and has since expanded with the offshore Scope Prime brand. Scope Markets holds a CySEC license for its European operations (scopemarkets.eu) and also operates internationally via an entity registered in Saint Lucia (scopemarkets.com).

In a LinkedIn post, Murphy described the move as reflecting “an increased focus on the Scope Markets brand, our retail business and the opportunities ahead.” He expressed gratitude to clients, partners, and colleagues, and said he is “excited to lead Scope Markets as we continue to scale globally, strengthen our client and partner offering, and build on the strong foundations already in place.”

The latest changes signal Rostro Group’s ongoing commitment to refining its management structure as it seeks to grow across multiple client segments and geographic regions.
