Interactive Brokers' Client Assets Hit $907B in July Despite a Drop in Trading Volume

Interactive Brokers reported $906.7B in client equity and 5.317M accounts at end-July, up 32% and 34% year over year, despite DARTs slipping 16% from June.

Interactive Brokers said client assets rose to $906.7 billion at the end of July, up 32% from a year earlier, while client accounts reached 5.317 million, a 34% increase. The figures, released in the broker's monthly operating metrics update, show continued growth in its customer base even as daily average revenue trades (DARTs) fell 16% from June to 4.426 million. Compared with July 2025, trading activity was still 27% higher.

Client margin loan balances climbed 49% year over year to $100.7 billion, while client credit balances rose 25% to $180.5 billion. Both were lower on a month-over-month basis, pointing to a slight pullback in client leverage and cash positions after June.

The July operating update follows Interactive Brokers' second-quarter financial results, when the company reported net revenue of $1.9 billion, up 28% from the same period a year earlier. The broker attributed that growth to continued expansion in customer accounts and trading activity.

Execution costs

Interactive Brokers also published execution statistics for its IBKR Pro clients. The average U.S. Reg.-NMS stock trade was valued at $23,449 during July. The all-in cost to execute and clear U.S. Reg.-NMS stock trades was approximately 4.0 basis points for the month, compared with a rolling 12-month average of 2.5 basis points.

Earlier this year, Interactive Brokers expanded its prediction-markets offering by integrating contracts from Kalshi, CME Group and ForecastEx into a single trading interface, allowing clients to access those products through one platform. The latest metrics highlight continued account and asset growth even as monthly trading volumes cooled from June levels.
