Indian broker Angel One's profit doubles on higher trading

Indian brokerage Angel One reported a 102% jump in consolidated net profit for the June quarter, driven by higher client participation and record orders.

Indian brokerage Angel One posted a 102% rise in consolidated net profit for the April-June quarter, reaching 2.31 billion rupees ($24 million), compared with 1.14 billion rupees a year earlier. The profit growth marks the second consecutive quarter of increase after a stretch of declines triggered by regulatory changes introduced by the market regulator in late 2024.

The Mumbai-based broker attributed the strong performance to higher trading activity. Total orders rose 18.4% year-on-year to 406 million during the quarter, supported by increased derivatives trading. The client base expanded 18.8% to 38.6 million by the end of June.

Angel One also highlighted the impact of its AI-driven assistant, launched in April, which has received over 1.1 million user clicks. The company said these tools are improving customer onboarding, support and internal productivity.

Total revenue from operations climbed 25.35% to 14.3 billion rupees. The results follow a similar trend at peer Groww, which also reported a near doubling in first-quarter profit.
