IG Group Names Andrew Biggs Chief Executive of IG Securities

IG Group has promoted Andrew Biggs to chief executive of IG Securities months after he joined the broker as trading director. Biggs previously headed Finalto Trading before moving to IG.
IG Group has appointed Andrew Biggs as chief executive of IG Securities, a promotion for the trading executive who joined the London-listed broker only months ago as trading director. The appointment, confirmed on LinkedIn, broadens Biggs's remit just a short time after he took up his previous role.
Biggs became trading director in April, with responsibility for IG Prime and trading across the group. His new position at IG Securities expands that oversight, according to the announcement. Before joining IG, Biggs spent several years at liquidity provider Finalto, where he was named chief executive of Finalto Trading in 2024. He had worked at Finalto since 2018.
The move comes after the departure of Adam Blemings, IG's long-serving trading director, who left the company at the beginning of the year after more than two decades there. Blemings was a longstanding figure in the group's trading leadership before his exit. Biggs's appointment fills the senior trading role left open by that departure and extends his remit at the company.
In the LinkedIn post announcing the new position, Biggs said he was particularly excited by the opportunity to bring technology and trading closer together. He said that pairing the group's trading expertise with its technology and data capabilities would allow IG to move faster and create better products for both IG Prime and IG Consumer clients.
Biggs also said IG has a long record of innovation in online trading and that he looked forward to working with teams across the group as it builds the foundations for its next phase of growth. He will now oversee IG Securities, adding a new layer of responsibility to his brief at the London-listed broker.
