IC's Prop Trading Firm IC Funded Goes Live

IC Markets has relaunched its prop trading division IC Funded, appointing former FunderPro executive Petros Kalaitzis to lead the unit after a pause since its initial launch in 2024.

IC Markets, one of the world’s largest retail FX and CFDs brokers, has officially relaunched its proprietary trading division, IC Funded, according to an exclusive report by FNG. The unit, which first debuted in 2024 amid the retail prop trading boom, had been placed on hold as the broker sought the right management team to lead it.

Earlier this year, IC Markets appointed Petros Kalaitzis as head of IC Funded. Kalaitzis previously held roles at FunderPro, Tools for Brokers, NAGA, Tickmill, Saxo Bank, and eToro. In a recent interview, he detailed the steps taken ahead of the relaunch, including a focus on infrastructure, trader experience, operational efficiency, execution, and risk management.

“Over the past several months we’ve focused heavily on rebuilding and strengthening the foundations of IC Funded ahead of the relaunch,” Kalaitzis said. “A large part of the work has been around infrastructure, trader experience, operational efficiency, execution and risk management and refining the overall model to ensure long-term sustainability and scalability.”

Positioning in a Crowded Market

Kalaitzis outlined the company’s strategy to stand out in the increasingly competitive prop trading space. “Our objective is to position IC Funded as a serious long-term player in the prop trading space, backed by the experience, technology, and global ecosystem behind IC Markets,” he explained. He emphasized that the unit aims to combine competitive trading conditions with transparency, stability, and a professional approach to risk management.

Initially, IC Funded will concentrate on expanding in key international markets, targeting disciplined, consistency-driven traders rather than high-risk speculative activity. “We’re building the business with a long-term vision and we see significant opportunity as the prop industry continues to mature and consolidate globally,” Kalaitzis added.

The relaunch marks a renewed push by IC Markets into the retail prop trading sector, which has seen explosive growth and subsequent consolidation over the past several years.
