Gate Follows Binance into US Equities with 10,000 Stocks and ETFs

Crypto exchange Gate has launched US stock and ETF trading via Alpaca's brokerage infrastructure, offering over 10,000 US-listed securities and IPO access.

Cryptocurrency exchange Gate has expanded into US equities, launching access to more than 10,000 US-listed stocks and ETFs through a partnership with brokerage technology provider Alpaca.

The service, branded Gate Stocks, also gives eligible users the ability to request allocations in US initial public offerings. Alpaca will supply the underlying brokerage, custody and settlement infrastructure, including dividend processing and corporate-action support. The deal also covers gStocks, Gate's tokenized US stock offering, with Alpaca handling custody and settlement of the underlying shares.

Gate's CEO Han said the partnership reflects a belief that the future of investing lies in connecting digital assets and traditional finance. The integration brings multiple asset classes together within the Gate ecosystem, he said. Alpaca co-founder and CEO Yoshi Yokokawa said the company's infrastructure is designed to help financial platforms expand into global markets.

Crypto exchanges push into traditional markets

The announcement is the latest example of crypto trading platforms adding conventional financial instruments. Binance introduced 7,000 US stocks in June, also relying on Alpaca for custody, dividend processing and corporate-action support. Coinbase has outlined plans for a multi-asset "Everything Exchange" spanning crypto, equities, derivatives and prediction markets. MEXC has also entered the US stock market with RealStocks, offering US-listed shares and dividends through a licensed brokerage partner.

Gate described the stock launch as part of a broader expansion beyond digital assets into traditional financial markets, wealth management, payments, Web3 and artificial intelligence. The platform is also developing AI tools aimed at retail investors, professional traders and developers for market analysis and asset management.

The move gives Gate users access to stocks and cryptocurrencies through a single platform, deepening the convergence between the crypto and traditional trading worlds.
