FP Markets expands its share CFD portfolio with landmark SpaceX (SPCX) listing

FP Markets has added SpaceX (SPCX) to its share CFD portfolio, a move the broker described as a landmark expansion of its equity CFD offering.

FP Markets has expanded its share CFD offering with the addition of SpaceX (SPCX), a listing the broker described as a landmark step for its equity CFD portfolio. The new SpaceX CFD is now part of the broker's share CFDs line-up, giving clients a fresh way to trade one of the most closely watched names in the private investing space.

Contracts for difference are derivative products that let traders take a view on the price of an asset without owning the underlying asset. With the new SPCX contract, clients can open positions based on their outlook for SpaceX, going long if they expect the price to rise or short if they expect it to fall. Any profit or loss generated by the position is determined by the movement in the price between entry and exit.

SpaceX, an aerospace and space transportation company, has long been at the centre of investor attention, but its shares are not available on traditional public exchanges. By adding the company to its CFD catalogue, FP Markets offers its clients an instrument that references SpaceX's price while remaining within the familiar framework of a brokerage product.

CFD trading is leveraged, meaning clients only need to put up a percentage of the total trade value to open a position. While this can increase potential returns, it also increases the risk of losses, and traders need to manage their exposure carefully. The SPCX listing joins FP Markets' existing share CFDs across a range of global equities, expanding the choice available to traders.

The announcement comes as CFD brokers continue to broaden their product menus to include high-profile companies that generate strong retail interest. The addition of a SpaceX-linked CFD is one of the more notable examples of that trend, given the company's prominence and the limited ways for everyday investors to gain exposure to it.
