Exclusive: Octa Cyprus CEO Georgios Pantzis to Step Down After Nine Years
Georgios Pantzis is stepping down as CEO of Octa's Cyprus entity after nearly nine years. The company is discussing new board appointments with CySEC while assuring clients of continuity.
Georgios Pantzis is stepping down as chief executive of Octa's Cyprus entity after nearly nine years at the helm. He will leave to pursue independent business ventures, although the specifics of his next steps have not been disclosed. The departure marks the end of a long leadership tenure for the Cyprus business.
The outgoing executive has led Octa Markets Cyprus since the company obtained its Cyprus Investment Firm (CIF) licence in December 2018. That regulatory authorisation allows Octa to offer CFD instruments across member states of the European Economic Area. Pantzis has been in charge of the Cypriot operation since it was established.
A successor has not been publicly named. The broker said it is engaging with the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) on the appointment of new board members to maintain a high level of corporate governance. Octa also said the leadership change will not affect its clients or partners.
The management shift comes a few months after the offshore entities associated with the Octa brand left the arrangement to establish a new CFD broker, Elev8. Those companies had previously shared the Octa brand with the Cypriot firm under a brand-sharing agreement, a structure that is common in the trading industry. The separation effectively ended the coordinated use of the Octa brand across those entities.
According to Pantzis's LinkedIn profile, he has already taken on the role of CEO at WealthIntel Management, a firm that provides services to family offices and wealth management clients. No timetable has been given for naming his successor at Octa Markets Cyprus.
