Capital.com Appears to Be Making a Move for the UK's Crypto Market

A broker news roundup points to Capital.com preparing a UK crypto move, Devexperts securing Indonesian approval, Tickmill UK's revenue falling and BlackBull delaying its IPO to 2027.

Capital.com appears to be preparing a move into the UK cryptocurrency market, according to a daily broker and fintech news roundup. The London-headquartered contracts-for-difference and spread-betting provider has not yet set out the scope of any crypto offering or a timeline for its launch.

The same bulletin reported that Devexperts, a trading technology vendor serving brokers, has won approval to operate in Indonesia, extending its reach into Southeast Asia. Financial contracts, meanwhile, are projected to account for close to half of all prediction-market volume by 2035, the recap noted, signalling expectations of continued overlap between derivatives-style products and event-based markets.

Broker results and expansion

On the retail brokerage side, Tickmill UK's trading revenue declined over the period covered, though the recap did not publish the underlying figures. BlackBull has postponed its planned initial public offering until 2027, pushing back the listing timeline for the New Zealand-based broker. Equiti has opened a second physical storefront in the United Arab Emirates, deepening a branch-based expansion strategy in the region.

Platform developments also featured. eToro is preparing to migrate clients to a new application centred on artificial intelligence, while Trade Republic gave some clients in Portugal a two-day window to switch their accounts. In the United States, eToro and Alpaca both received relief from the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the European Central Bank launched Pontes, an initiative tied to digital market infrastructure.

Revolut used the same news cycle to outline a banking model built on comparatively low lending volumes relative to its deposit base. Separately, payments provider Paytiko published a webinar on multi-PSP routing, arguing that merchants relying on a single payment service provider face operational and settlement risks as they scale.
