Bitvavo Becomes First Crypto Partner of the German Football Association (DFB)

Dutch crypto exchange Bitvavo has partnered with the German Football Association (DFB) through 2030, covering national teams, DFB Cup, and more. The deal aims to boost crypto adoption among fans.

Dutch cryptocurrency exchange Bitvavo has secured a landmark partnership with the German Football Association (DFB), becoming the first crypto platform officially linked to the country’s football governing body. The agreement runs through 2030 and spans a broad range of DFB properties, including the men's and women's national teams, the DFB Cup, the U21 and U23 squads, the futsal team, and the Google Pixel Women’s Supercup.

The collaboration goes beyond a simple logo placement. Bitvavo and the DFB plan to work together on innovation, fan engagement, and accessibility of crypto assets. Joint campaigns and exclusive giveaways for both football fans and Bitvavo users are expected, with further details to be announced soon.

As part of the deal, new Bitvavo users will receive €10 in crypto credit and can trade up to €10,000 without paying any trading fees. The offer is designed to lower the barrier for people curious about entering the crypto market.

Crypto Growth in Germany

Bitvavo’s timing aligns with the strong expansion of crypto adoption in Germany. According to the company, over 10 million Germans already trade cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, and another 10 million are considering taking the plunge. Bitvavo views this partnership as a way to cement its position as a trusted European platform for this incoming wave of investors.

Holger Blask of the DFB commented that cryptocurrencies represent digital transformation and popularity, adding that Bitvavo combines innovation with security and accessibility — values that resonate with German football.

Bitvavo’s European Ambitions

Founded in Amsterdam in 2018, Bitvavo aims to make crypto accessible to everyone. It now claims to be a market leader in Europe, handling half of all euro-to-crypto spot transactions. The exchange lists more than 440 digital assets, offers a user-friendly app, low fees, and holds a MiCAR license from the Dutch financial regulator AFM.

“German football stands for quality, team spirit, and results,” said Bitvavo CMO Marijn van de Ven. “That fits perfectly with our scalable approach and our commitment to technology and user experience.” The partnership is expected to boost Bitvavo’s brand recognition across Germany and fuel further innovation in sports-related crypto initiatives.
