BingX EU Secures Austrian MiCA Licence to Enter 29 EEA Markets

BingX EU, operated by MEGE zweite GmbH, has obtained a MiCA licence from Austria's Financial Market Authority, opening the door to regulated crypto services across 29 EEA countries.

BingX's European entity has been granted a licence under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) by Austria's Financial Market Authority, the company announced on Wednesday, 14 October 2026. The authorisation covers BingX EU, which is operated by MEGE zweite GmbH, and is expected to let the firm offer regulated crypto services throughout the European Economic Area, subject to the applicable passporting rules.

The licence spans 29 EEA countries, providing a regulatory footing for the exchange group's regional expansion. MiCA sets out shared requirements for crypto-asset service providers, covering authorisation, business conduct standards and consumer protection obligations that apply across member states.

Regulatory framework cited by CEO

Daniel Lai, Chief Executive Officer of BingX EU, said the company's focus is giving European users a locally regulated trading experience. He added that operating under MiCA will allow BingX EU to deliver its services within a clear regulatory framework while meeting the requirements that apply to European users.

BingX EU said it will continue cooperating with the Austrian FMA and other European regulators as it readies the rollout of its regulated offering across the EEA. The company has not disclosed a launch date, nor has it detailed which services its regulated European entity intends to offer first.

The licence arrives as the EU's transition to a single framework for crypto-asset service providers enters its closing phase. The MiCA transition period ended on 1 July this year, after which crypto firms operating in the bloc must hold authorisation, with national transition arrangements shaping how existing providers move onto the new regime.

BingX EU joins a group of exchanges that have taken the Austrian route into the EEA. Bybit secured authorisation from the Austrian regulator in May 2025 to serve 29 EEA countries through its Austrian operations, while KuCoin EU Exchange GmbH obtained an Austrian MiCA licence in November 2025 covering 29 EEA markets, excluding Malta.
