Appointment of Board Chair

IG Group has received FCA approval for Andrew Barron to become Board Chair from 1 April, replacing Mike McTighe.

IG Group Holdings plc has confirmed that the Financial Conduct Authority has approved the appointment of Andrew Barron as its next Board Chair. In a regulatory update on 31 March 2026, the FTSE 100 financial technology company said Barron will take up the role on 1 April 2026, also becoming Chair of the Nomination Committee.

Barron's appointment had been announced by IG Group on 3 March 2026 and was subject to FCA clearance. With that approval now in place, he will officially succeed Mike McTighe, who is stepping down as Board Chair, Chair of the Nomination Committee and as a non-executive director of the Company on the same date.

The handover marks the completion of a board-level transition for the London-listed group. IG Group operates at the intersection of retail trading, technology and capital markets, serving more than 1.3 million customers worldwide through brands including IG, tastytrade, Freetrade and Independent Reserve.

Through its proprietary platforms, the company offers leveraged trading, stock trading and investments, and cryptocurrency trading. Investor enquiries regarding the announcement are being handled by IG Group Investor Relations, while media enquiries are directed to Sodali & Co.
