Angel One Reports April 2026 Business Update: Client Base Hits 37.79 Million

Angel One's client base grew 20% YoY to 37.79 million in April 2026, while average client funding book jumped 35.8% YoY to ₹53.13 billion. Option premium turnover surged 130.5% YoY.

Angel One Limited released its monthly business metrics for April 2026 on May 7, highlighting double-digit year-on-year growth in client base, funding book, and trading volumes despite month-on-month moderation in some segments.

Client Base and Funding Book The online broker’s total client base expanded 20% year-on-year to 37.79 million, from 31.48 million a year ago, and rose 1.1% sequentially. Gross client acquisition, however, slowed to 0.46 million, down 9.1% month-on-month and 6.2% year-on-year. Average client funding book reached ₹53.13 billion, climbing 35.8% year-on-year but slipping 3.5% from March 2026 levels.

Order Activity With 20 trading days in April, up from 19 in both March and April 2025, total orders processed stood at 135.75 million — a 27.3% year-on-year increase but a 3% sequential decline. Average daily orders came in at 6.79 million, up 21% year-on-year but down 7.9% month-on-month.

ADTO Surges Across Segments Average daily turnover (ADTO) on option premium basis skyrocketed 130.5% year-on-year to ₹2,459 billion, while commodity ADTO jumped 155% to ₹2,199 billion. Cash segment ADTO rose 32.9% year-on-year to ₹94 billion. Notional turnover ADTO gained 41.3% year-on-year to ₹52,210 billion.

Market Share Gains Angel One recorded sequential market share improvements in overall equity (up 75 basis points to 20.5% based on option premium), F&O option premium (up 63 bps to 22.3%), and cash turnover (up 193 bps to 17.9%). Its dominant commodity turnover market share remained high at 56.7%, though down 46 bps sequentially. The company noted that cash segment volumes picked up as expected, while average daily orders remained above the FY2026 average despite seasonal softness.
