Amana Simplifies Halal Investing with Sharia-Compliant Asset Labels

amana, a MENA neo-broker, has partnered with Zoya to embed Sharia-compliance screening directly into its app, using a blue crescent moon icon to mark halal assets.

Dubai-based neo-broker amana has integrated Sharia-compliance screening technology from fintech firm Zoya, making it simpler for faith-conscious investors in the Middle East and North Africa to identify halal assets directly within their trading app.

The new feature introduces a blue crescent moon icon next to assets that meet Islamic finance standards. Tapping the icon reveals certification details, including the name of the verifying authority. A dedicated Sharia-only category has also been added to the app's Search and For You tabs, allowing users to discover compliant assets without manual research.

amana CEO Muhammad Rasoul said the integration removes the guesswork from halal investing. “Investors and traders deserve clarity, confidence, and the ability to align their decisions with their values,” he added.

The system runs on Zoya’s real-time compliance technology, which is accessed via Zoya’s API. Zoya develops software that helps Muslims align their finances with their faith.

amana claims more than 500,000 users across the Middle East and offers access to over 6,800 assets, including more than 1,200 MENA stocks, U.S. equities, metals, ETFs, and FX. As an added incentive, amana charges zero fees on MENA stocks for the first USD 100,000 invested.

The partnership marks the latest effort by a regional fintech to cater to religiously observant investors. By embedding the screening process into its mobile-first interface, amana aims to eliminate the need to consult separate tools or manually check financial ratios.
