Iran: Any Aggression Will Be Met With Powerful Response

Iran's foreign minister stated that the country's defense doctrine is 'eye for an eye,' warning that any aggression against Iran, including infrastructure, will be met with a decisive response. Those contributing to such aggression in any form will also be considered legitimate targets.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Araghchi has outlined the nation’s defense doctrine as one of reciprocity, declaring it an "eye for an eye" approach. In a statement issued on Telegram, he warned that any act of aggression against Iran, including attacks on its infrastructure, would prompt a powerful and decisive response.

Araghchi further cautioned that parties contributing to such aggression, in any capacity, would themselves be considered legitimate targets. The remarks come amid heightened tensions in the region, though no specific incident was cited as the trigger for the statement.

The hardline stance is likely to keep geopolitical risk premiums elevated, particularly in energy markets, though direct implications for financial assets remain unclear at this stage.
