EUR/USD Weekly Forecast: Dollar Under Pressure After Warsh Withdrawal

EUR/USD closed the week near 1.1500, gaining over 1.1%, after hitting 1.1530. The dollar weakened on news that potential Fed chair candidate Kevin Warsh bowed out.

The euro extended its weekly advance against the dollar, settling around 1.1500 after a 1.1% gain. The pair briefly touched 1.1530 before the weekend, aided by dollar softness.

Market sentiment shifted after reports that Kevin Warsh, a leading contender for the next Fed chair, withdrew from consideration. The move added pressure to the greenback, which was already struggling for direction amid cautious trading.

Price action through the month was largely dull, with investors uncertain about the immediate path of monetary policy. The lack of clear catalysts kept EUR/USD confined to a narrow range for much of July, but the late-week news injected fresh momentum into the euro.
