U.S. equity markets opened on a mixed note Wednesday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 219.95 points, or 0.43%, to 51,890.98.

In contrast, the S&P 500 fell 2.39 points, or 0.03%, to 7,551.90, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 34.16 points, or 0.13%, to 26,649.78.

The divergent moves suggest sector rotation at the start of the trading session, with blue-chip stocks outperforming technology shares.
