Strait of Hormuz Closed for Over 96 Hours: IRGC Navy Halts Passage

The IRGC Navy has not issued passage permits for over 96 hours, effectively closing the Strait of Hormuz to all vessels until further notice, according to IRIB News Agency.

The Strait of Hormuz, a critical chokepoint for global oil shipments, has been effectively closed for over 96 hours. The IRGC Navy has not issued any passage permits during this period, and the strait is closed to all vessels at both entry and exit points until further notice, as reported by IRIB News Agency.

This development represents a significant disruption to maritime traffic through one of the world's most strategically important waterways. Approximately 20% of the world's oil passes through the Strait of Hormuz daily. The closure raises immediate concerns about supply constraints and potential price spikes in energy markets.
