Softer Geopolitics Lifts CEE FX as Growth Data Eyed

ING sees softer geopolitical tensions supporting high-beta CEE currencies, while upcoming GDP data from Czechia and Hungary should confirm better momentum and Polish inflation is set to rise.

The easing of geopolitical risks is providing a tailwind for high-beta central and eastern European currencies, according to ING strategist Frantisek Taborsky.

Upcoming GDP releases from the Czech Republic and Hungary are expected to confirm improving growth momentum in both economies.

Meanwhile, Polish inflation is seen re-accelerating on the back of higher fuel costs.
