Semiconductor stocks now comprise a record 18.8% of the S&P 500's total market capitalization, according to data cited by The Kobeissi Letter. This share has more than tripled since 2022, with the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index (SOX) rallying 546% over that period.

For context, at the peak of the 2000 Dot-Com Bubble, semiconductors accounted for less than half of their current weighting. Meanwhile, the so-called Magnificent 7 stocks now represent roughly 33% of the S&P 500's market value, highlighting the outsized influence of technology on the broader index.
