SEC Adds Three Crypto Regulation Proposals to 2026 Agenda

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has added three crypto regulatory proposals to its 2026 agenda, covering broker rules, trading on alternative systems, and possible exemptions.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has included three cryptocurrency-related regulatory proposals on its 2026 rulemaking agenda. The proposals address crypto broker oversight, the trading of digital assets on alternative trading systems and national exchanges, and potential exemptions for certain transactions.

SEC Chair Paul Atkins stated that the goal is to clarify the regulatory framework for crypto assets, including capital raising and the handling of tokenized securities. The move signals continued regulatory focus on the crypto sector under the current administration.
