The Vanguard S&P 500 ETF (VOO) has officially crossed the $1 trillion mark in assets under management (AUM), a first for any ETF globally. The milestone comes as the fund has attracted approximately $69 billion in net inflows year-to-date in 2026, potentially making it the largest annual intake since the fund's inception in 2010.

By comparison, the two other major S&P 500 ETFs, IVV and SPY, hold roughly $860 billion and $785 billion in AUM, respectively. VOO's AUM has more than tripled since the 2022 bear market low.

The broader ETF industry continues to see massive growth. Global ETF AUM stood at $21.9 trillion at the end of April 2026, more than triple the $6.4 trillion recorded at the start of 2020, with 83 consecutive months of inflows.
