PBOC Sets USD/CNY Reference Rate at 6.7972 vs 6.7989 Prior

The People's Bank of China set the USD/CNY central parity rate at 6.7972 on Monday, slightly lower than Friday's fix of 6.7989, indicating a modest strengthening of the yuan.

USDCNY

On Monday, the People's Bank of China (PBOC) fixed the USD/CNY reference rate at 6.7972 for the trading session. This compares with the previous fix on Friday of 6.7989.

The daily central parity rate serves as the midpoint for the onshore yuan's trading band. The slight reduction in the fix points to a marginal appreciation of the Chinese currency against the US dollar.
