NZD/USD Rises Above 0.5850 as Hot CPI Data Boosts RBNZ Rate Hike Bets

The New Zealand Dollar strengthened against the US Dollar in early European trading on Tuesday, supported by hotter-than-expected CPI inflation data that reinforces expectations of further rate hikes by the Reserve Bank of New Zealand.

NZDUSD

The NZD/USD pair moved higher during the early European session on Tuesday, trading around 0.5860. The New Zealand Dollar gained momentum after the release of stronger-than-forecast consumer price index (CPI) data, which bolstered market bets that the Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) may continue raising interest rates.

Traders are now looking ahead to the US ADP Employment report, due later in the session, for further direction. The data could provide additional clues on the Federal Reserve's policy path and influence USD dynamics.
