Gold firms as US-Iran pause sends oil lower

Gold opened with a bullish gap on Monday, trading near $4,102, while a temporary US-Iran truce pushed oil prices sharply lower.

XAUUSD

Gold (XAU/USD) started the week with a bullish gap, climbing to around $4,102 and marking a 1.24% gain at the time of writing. The move came as a temporary halt in military exchanges between the United States and Iran improved risk sentiment.

Oil prices fell sharply in response to the pause, as fears of supply disruptions eased. The de-escalation reduced the geopolitical premium that had recently supported crude markets.
