German Composite PMI Eases to 48.9 in Q2 After Peaking at 52.4 in Q4 2025

Germany's composite PMI strengthened through 2025, peaking at 52.4 in Q4, before falling below the expansion threshold to 48.9 in Q2, indicating a broadening but volatile recovery.

EURUSD

The latest PMI data from Germany shows that the economic recovery is becoming more broad-based, moving beyond the services sector. The composite PMI, which combines manufacturing and services activity, rose steadily through 2025, reaching a peak of 52.4 in the fourth quarter.

However, momentum weakened in subsequent months, with the index slipping to 48.9 in the second quarter — below the 50.0 threshold that separates expansion from contraction. This decline suggests that while industrial momentum had improved, it may be facing headwinds.
